“Do Not Write About Expedited Graduation”

After a year of flirting with the idea of an academic major change, I am finally doing so. While sitting in Macroeconomics in England I knew it wasn’t for me, but I tried. I tried hard through two Accounting classes, Business Law, Macro & Micro etc. I wanted to be an economist like my big brother Michael. It seemed so sturdy, so secure. If you look at the Business Administration degree just about anywhere, it seems to be preparing High School Business teachers. I have to talk myself into getting out of bed to go to classes I don’t care about anymore. It was beginning to seem like classes were being added to the Business Admin program. What is worse, my peers and I were feeling like more classes were added without students’ knowledge. Buffalo State has always been infamous to a lot of students for misinformation. I would have never signed up for 3 Accounting classes knowing it would be a miracle if I got out of one. I think that if you are losing motivation while coming to a finish line, something’s got to give. It's this major. I'm done. I cannot deal with another Accounting or Finance class.

One of my favorite (very few) professors from the Computer Information Systems Dept. suggested an adviser in the Business Department who in her opinion would be more helpful than my assigned Advisor...
When I told my assigned advisor my Freshman year that I wanted to work for an Advertising &/or Marketing firm, he should have thought. His thought should have been to send me to the Communications Dept.
He was very, very helpful. The classes I’m taking in the Fall (that I'm interested in) are within the Communications Department. The classes: a Public Relations course, an Advertising Principles, and the mandatory, Introduction to Communication Mediums. I now have to submit an application for the Individualized Studies major. Included with that I have to write a paper on why I would like to switch my major. This is all with emphasis on not writing about graduation more quickly.

Oh, so they know we're all metaphorically dying and tired of spending money we nor our parents have on years and years of school?!
